Questions & answers
Salka exists for one reason: so you never lose your money to a ticket scam.
What is Salka?
Salka is a safe place to buy and sell event tickets. We sit between the buyer and the seller. Your money is held by Salka and only reaches the seller once the ticket is proven good. That is how we protect you from scams.
What if the ticket turns out to be fake or doesn't work on the day?
You report it through Salka and show us what happened. If the ticket was a fraud, you get your money back. You may miss the event, but you won't lose your money, and that is exactly what we are here for.
How does Salka protect me when I buy a QR e-ticket?
Every QR code is fingerprinted when it is listed, so the same ticket can never be listed twice on Salka. After you pay, the seller is not paid straight away. You have a window that opens 2 hours before the event starts and closes 2 hours after it starts. If the QR is rejected at the gate, open a report inside Salka, record a short video showing the problem, and our support team reviews it. The seller is only paid when the window closes with no valid report.
How do physical (paper) tickets work?
The seller hands the ticket to a Salka representative in person. When you have paid and your money is held, the representative collects the ticket from the seller and hands it to you. The buyer and seller never need to meet, so nobody can swap a fake ticket or take the deal outside Salka.
What stops a buyer from copying the QR and then claiming it didn't work?
Reports are not accepted on trust. A report needs a video showing the QR being rejected at the gate, and our team checks it. A false report is treated as fraud: the account is banned, and the ID number and phone number are blocked from creating a new account.
What stops a seller from selling the same ticket twice?
The QR fingerprint blocks the same ticket from being listed twice on Salka. Sellers must also be verified with a phone number, an ID or passport, and a face check before they can list anything. A seller who sells a bad ticket is banned and can't come back with a new account.
What happens to someone who commits fraud?
Every buyer and seller on Salka is verified with a phone number, an ID or passport and a face check. If an account is confirmed as fraud, the account is banned for good, the person can't open a new one, and the case can be reported to the Egyptian authorities together with the verification records we hold. Don't try to scam on Salka: we know who you are.
When does the seller get paid?
Physical tickets: after the buyer has received the ticket. QR e-tickets: after the claim window closes, 2 hours after the event starts, if there is no valid report.
Why should I not deal outside Salka?
Outside Salka there is nobody holding the money and nobody checking the ticket. That is exactly how most ticket scams happen. If you deal with the seller or buyer directly, Salka can't protect you.
Is my identity information safe?
We use your documents only to verify you, to keep banned people from returning, and to report confirmed fraud to the authorities. Your documents are not shown to other users. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
